Path planning for complex parts, such as a turbine airfoil, can require the use of non-standard features called curves. ZEISS CALYPSO planner allows the user to define these features, their measurement and evaluation strategies, and to simulate the program with a virtual stylus system(s). Proofing a program offline via simulation yields hours of saved time at the CMM to minimize machine downtime. Join us to see this strategy used to program and simulate the curves of a turbine airfoil in ZEISS CALYPSO software.
